Laurie Hansen, CPA
Laurie has been with the Saint Paul Port Authority for close to 20 years. In her role as CFO, she is responsible for all accounting and finance functions. Prior to joining the Saint Paul Port Authority, Laurie worked in public accounting for 3 ½ years and the banking industry for 10 years.
Laurie holds a B.S. in business administration-accounting from the University of Montana and an MBA from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota. Laurie was awarded CFO of the Year (2013) and Top Women in Finance (2006). On a personal level, Laurie is active in P.E.O. International and serves as president of the Woodbury Chapter.
Debra has been with Saint Paul Port Authority since 1999. In her role as financial reporting analyst, Debra is responsible for creating the organization’s financial reports. In total, Deb has 40 years of experience with previous positions in both manufacturing and service based industries.
Bruce has been a part of the Saint Paul Port Authority team since 2003. As vice president of lending services, Bruce specializes in New Market Tax Credit financing.
Prior to joining Saint Paul Port Authority, Bruce spent 20 years in the banking industry.
Bruce Kessel, CPA
Bruce Kessel started with the Saint Paul Port Authority in 2001 as the organization’s controller. Bruce brings to this role extensive knowledge in governmental accounting and finance, tax increment financing, new market tax credits, Minnesota sales tax, and federal/state exempt tax reporting.
Bruce earned his B.S. in business administration from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining Saint Paul Port Authority, Bruce spent 10 years in public accounting and 11 years in government accounting roles. On a personal note, Bruce serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Boat Club.
Peter Klein, CPA
Peter has been with Saint Paul Port Authority since 1997. As vice president of finance, Peter manages the Trillion BTU and PACE Minnesota energy finance programs.
Peter brings to this role 15 additional years’ experience in private business, holding controller and treasurer positions. Peter earned his B.S. in business management from the University of Minnesota and master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University. On a personal level, Peter serves as the Treasurer of Neighborhood Development Connection.
Michael joined the Saint Paul Port Authority in 2017 as a loan officer supporting energy finance programs. Michael brings to his role eight years of experience in the banking industry. Michael earned his B.S. in business administration from Michigan Technological University and MBA in finance from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Sarah came to Saint Paul Port Authority in 2014 and has a total of 12 years professional accounting experience. In her current role as staff accountant, Sarah is responsible for accounts receivables, cash receipts, investment entry and management, lease and rental invoicing, monthly cash reporting and bank transfers.
Sarah holds an A.A.S. in accounting from Minneapolis Business College.
