Overview
At the direction of leadership, evaluate the performance of and deliver education to HealthEast Medical Transportation personnel, and other healthcare/public safety students.

Responsibilities/Job Description
Job Expectations:

Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
Instructs certification courses such as EMT, EMT Refresher (NCCP), EMR, Paramedic Refresher (NCCP), BLS and ACLS
Provides training and development to Paramedics, EMT-B, dispatchers and MedKab drivers on job related content.
Provides necessary training for new equipment and procedures. Assists in the review of proposed patient care guidelines.
Ensures ongoing competency of Paramedics and EMT’s through testing.
Develops and maintains multi-media education programs including but not limited to online courses.
Assists in the development of curriculum to meet the education and training needs for all of HEMT.
Delivers scenario-based simulations using high-fidelity mannequins and actors for the purpose of training.
Partners with the Field Training Officers to successfully onboard new employees.

Computer Skills: Basic ability to use a computer and applications that are associated with performing basic work tasks (navigate in Windows, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, ePro, LMS etc.).

Organization: Effective management of projects, deadlines, and work load prioritizing; putting things together in an orderly and functionaly whole.
Public Speaking: Presents ideas, information and materials to individuals and groups. Prepares and provides structured delivery; commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation.
Training/Development: Ability to design, develop and/or deliver training programs.
Qualifications
Required

Education

Trade or Vocational Certification as an EMT or Paramedic.
Associate’s Degree or higher preferred
2 years of prehospital care experience required
License/Certification/Registration

Nationally Registered EMT or Paramedic
Minnesota EMSRB Certified EMT or Paramedic
AHA BLS Instructor (or within 3 months of hire)
AHA ACLS Instructor (or within 3 months of hire if a paramedic or RN)
Preferred

DOT Certified EMS Instructor
DOT Certified STS Instructor

Experience

4 years of prehospital care experience preferred
2 years of adult education/teaching experience strongly preferred
Patient simulation experience preferred
