Leads a team to pick, assemble and pack kits. This work is performed by hand and the work cannot be done by machines. The Kit and Pack Lead is responsible the departments accurate and productive operations.

Work Conditions

  • Identify the best ways to remove waste and increase productivity
  • Ensure accuracy regarding the inspection, counting, prepackaging, light assembly and other labor-intensive processes
  • Calm under pressure, enjoys problems solving and able to make quick decisions
  • Flexible to work overtime preferred

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Leads the production and fulfillment processes, aiming to improve efficiency, quality, and reduce error rates
  • Drive strategic planning for fulfillment on future product offerings
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs
  • Record numbers of units handled and moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets
  • Sorts products and workload for the team
  • Package or kit finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
  • Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety, improved product quality, better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employees’ health
  • Practice safe working habits as trained
  • Must secure help if item to be lifted or carried exceeds weights given in the Physical Requirements section of the Job Description
  • Maintain good housekeeping in work area
  • Perform light assembly as required
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor

Best Candidates Will Possess these skills 

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Knowledge of product quality standards
  • Know all pre-pack packaging methods
  • Run production machines after training
